Terms and Conditions of Hire

Hire is from one months meets to the corresponding meet the following month (usually a 4 week period) At Derby and Nottingham Sling Libraries discretion you may arrange to borrow an item for a longer or shorter period. A hire agreement form must be completed for all items you borrow with your full name, address and contact details, hire fees, deposit, date hired, return date and any additional items supplied with the hire. A printed copy of these Terms and Conditions, including details of your hired sling and hire dates will also be completed for you to keep. Details will be kept on file to notify you of the hired items return date and options available for returning or extending your hire, details of meets and other relevant offers, we will not pass your details on to any 3rd party. Unsubscribe options are on all emails sent (if you unsubscribe you will not get any automatic email reminders of the return dates but you will remain liable for any fees due to late return)

 

Hire fees are £12.50 from one months meets to the corresponding meet the following month. Extensions are charged at a rate of £5 per week or £12.50 per month. Other hire periods may be available at Derby and Nottingham Sling Libraries discretion. A deposit of £30 is taken with all hires and will be returned by the same method as it was paid once the sling is returned in as hired condition. Hire fees are payable by cash or Paypal and deposits are payable by cash, cheque or PayPal. All PayPal payments must be made via friends and family payment option to dnslings@gmail.com if payments are made via goods and services at any time we will take any charges incurred from your deposit before returning it. At Derby and Nottingham Sling Libraries discretion deposits may be reduced or waived for some library users. 

 

The deposit will be held during your hire period and returned once the item has been returned and checked. Charges for items damaged or permanently stained beyond normal wear and tear will be judged on a case by case basis. If the item is damaged beyond the value of deposit or rendered unsafe for continued use, action will be taken to recover the full value of the item, including court action where necessary.

 

Late fees will be charged at £1.50 per day when items are not returned by the agreed return date, which will be deducted from your deposit. If you suspect you may be late returning a item then contact Derby and Nottingham Sling Library as soon as possible so we can come to an arrangement to extend your hire period or arrange a return time. Extensions will be arranged at a rate of £5 per week or £12.50 per month.

 

Items hired will be considered lost or stolen and your full deposit retained if 14 days elapse without contact, at this point action will be taken to recover all outstanding fees and the full value of the item, including but not limited to court action where necessary. If court action is required, you will be liable for all court fees in addition to the full value of the item that has not been returned, all outstanding fees and charges and admin costs of 20% of the total charges due. We do not take court action lightly and it will always be a last resort. We may reduce or waive fines for late returns if this is agreed by Derby and Nottingham Sling Library before the end of the hire period in certain circumstances.

 

Please check all items prior to accepting the hire. All items are checked before hiring to ensure that they are in good condition and working order. If you discover any problems or faults during your hire please report immediately.

Instructions are available on our Facebook page (or on paper where absolutely necessary) for all our Slings and Carriers, it is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with these. Individual instruction and advice can be sought at Derby and Nottingham Sling Library meets or via email to dnslings@gmail.com or via our Facebook page if you need it. Please take care of the items hired so they can continue to be enjoyed by future users, storing them safely to avoid any damage.

 

We cannot guarantee that the items will be free of all marks or pet hairs.

Items are spot-cleaned and laundered when necessary by Derby and Nottingham Sling Library.

Do not machine wash the items as we clean all items regularly according to manufacturer’s instructions using gentle non-bio laundry liquid. Spot clean when necessary using plain water and leave to dry naturally if any item becomes lightly stained. If you feel that the hired items must be cleaned whilst on hire then contact Derby and Nottingham Sling Library first.

 

Please NO Smoking (including electronic vaporisers) while wearing the hired items from Derby and Nottingham Sling Library.

Do Not use the items hired from Derby and Nottingham Sling Library for carrying animals.

 

Derby and Nottingham Sling Library do not take any responsibility for any damage or injury caused either by incorrect or correct usage.

 

All slings, carriers, instructions and accessories remain the property of Bob at Derby and Nottingham Sling Library at all times, and all hires are subject to availability and at Derby and Nottingham Sling Libraries discretion.
